At least they started strong..

The New York Yankees haven't been playing as well as they did when the season started, but they're not giving up. Both the Yankees and New York Mets have been struggling to win their games, but can't seem to do it. Especially the Mets. The Yankees have a better record than the Mets though, giving them a better chance to be more successful. A reason why i believe that the Yankees can play better than the Mets is because their star players like A-Rod, Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano are having a great season with a combined total of 23 home runs. The team all together have 58 home runs. Meanwhile, the New York Mets have a total of 43 home runs. Rod Barajas, David Wright, and Ike Davis got a combined total of 26 home runs. So far, the Yankees' record is 32-20, meanwhile the Mets' record is 27-26. The Mets may have started out strong, but the Yankees are doing way better, and the Yankees are in second, right behind the Tampa Bay Rays. My opinion is that if the Mets make the world series against another team besides the Yankees, that series would be boring to watch. However, if both the Yankees and the Mets make the world series then it would be more interesting, just like it how it was back in 2000. The city of New York will be filled with disputes about which team is better. Sports clothing stores will sell more than ever. However, if that was to happen, the New York Yankees would come out as winners, just like last time. This is because the Yankees have more experience being the the World Series, and they also have more wins than the Mets do. But if the Yankees don't make the world series and the Mets do, then I would want them to win.

There are many disputes among baseball fans on which New York team is better. Despite the New York Yankees 22-12 record so far, the New York Mets have been doing outstanding thanks players such as Ike Davis, David Wright, and Johan Santana. Their record may not be as great as the Yankees, landing third in their division at 18-17, but their players can do anything in their power to change that record into a better record. The Mets may have gotten winning streaks, but their performance isn't as good as when they started the season. The Yankees also have lost a coupe of games, but they are proving that they want to get to another World Series. Players such as Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and pitcher CC Sabathia have helped the Yankees get as many wins as possible. However, the Mets right now do not show that they can make it to the World Series. A couple of more losses and they can have a losing record so far. Mets fans are waiting to see their team play as great as they did when they started. I believe that the Yankees have a better chance of making it to the playoffs than the Mets. This is because the Yankees have better players that can make game winning plays. Also because their record is better, since they are in second place in the entire league. While the New York Mets have been stealing the spotlight in the beginning of the season with their many wins and losses, the New York Yankees have been silently earning their winning record, trying to reach a second consecutive World Series. The Yankees also have a better chance at making it to the World Series since they have a better history of being in a World Series. The Yankees have been in 40 World Series and won 27. The Mets, however, been in four World Series, and won only two.
